There are several funding opportunities available at VCU in support of community-engaged research.
CCTR Endowment Fund
The CCTR Endowment Fund supports meritorious pilot and feasibility research. Under this mechanism, VCU faculty may apply for money to support clinical and translational research, including community-engaged research that enhances the adoption of best practices in the community. Individual investigators and small groups of investigators may apply for up to $50,000 for their research. Interdisciplinary research teams may apply for up to $130,000 to support research that involves collaborators from at least two different VCU schools.
Submission deadlines for applications are Nov. 1, Feb. 1 and Aug. 1 for individual research awards and May 1 for multischool awards.
For more information, including eligibility requirements instructions and grant application, see the CCTR Endowment Fund page.
Community engagement grants
With support from the offices of the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Senior Vice President for Health Sciences, the Council for Community Engagement provides one-year seed grants of up to $20,000 to support interdisciplinary projects that will enhance and increase university engagement with the Greater Richmond community and will contribute to the research and teaching within VCU units.
